Bakraur

Bakraur village was the home of milkmaid Sujata who had fed milk and rice to Buddha ending years of fasting and asceticism thus paving way for the middle way. The village has Sujata Stupa dedicated to her. 

IMPORTANCE
The village of Bakraur is sitauted across the river Niranjana (called Phalgu locally) on the opposite side of Mahabodhi temple comlex. This village was the home of milkmaid Sujata who had fed milk and rice to Buddha ending years of fasting and asceticism thus paving way for the middle way. The village has a Stupa dedicated to her.
