Mocharim

Mocharim village near Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya derives its name after naga Mucalinda who is believed to have protected Buddha from a great rainstorm when he was meditating. Lord Buddha is said to have spent six weeks after attaining enlightenment near the ancient pond in this village. 

IMPORTANCE
Mocharim is another nearby village situated about 1 kilometre south of the Mahabodhi Temple on the west bank of Niranjana River which derives its name after naga Mucalinda who is believed to have protected Buddha from a great rainstorm when he was meditating.
